Ways to give
Your contributions help Way Finders provide support for individuals and families in need of housing assistance throughout Western Massachusetts. From shelters for families to first-time home buyers, Way Finders provides programs and services that best meet the need of someone’s housing journey.
How your gift helps
- $25 can provide families in a Way Finders shelter things such as personal hygiene products, grocery gift cards, or school supplies
- $50 can provide transportation such as bus passes or gas cards to help them get to work, school or appointments
- $100 can support a client working towards economic stability and building assets through financial education, first-time homebuyer classes, and foreclosure prevention services
- $250 can enhance our Resident Engagement Programs with community garden projects, parent support groups, and activities for children living in a Way Finders property
You can make a difference for families facing housing challenges
Your contribution can earn you a state tax break!
Invest in community. Invest in Way Finders.
Your donation of $1,000 or more may earn you a tax credit of 50% of the donation!
Through a competitive funding program, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities has allocated Community Investment Tax Credits (CITC) to Way Finders to be used to match donations of $1,000 or more from local residents and businesses.
The tax credit is equal to 50% of a donation of $1,000 or more made by a corporation, an individual, or a nonprofit institution. And if you don’t owe state income tax, the tax credit will be paid to you directly; it is “refundable.”
CITC is a perfect example of “doing well by doing good.” Can you name any other charitable contribution that can give you a big state tax break? Every year, Way Finders receives a limited number of tax credits – first come, first served!
Donors may also be eligible for federal tax deduction for their donation. Eligible donations made during the current calendar year will result in a certificate of tax credits to be redeemed on this year’s tax returns.
