Restoration Worship Center Brings 100 Backpacks to Children at Way Finders’ Residential Resource Center

July 23, 2018

Springfield, MA—The Restoration Worship Center (RWC) volunteered their time at a Way Finders’ Residential Resource Center in Springfield that shelters 18 families with over 50 children during their annual Hope Week, July 15th to 21st. RWC volunteers made lunches for families and spruced up the community kitchens.

On Monday, July 23rd, RWC volunteers arrived to the Resource Center with over 100 backpacks to be handed out to all of the children. Children were thrilled, as they had the option to choose from various backpacks that were pink, blue, camouflage, and leopard colored.

“We wanted to take what god gave us and bless the families and children here. We wanted to help families that may not have been able to provide school supplies a backpacks. It is very eye opening coming here and truly realizing that the families here are just regular people like me, they are just going through a rough patch and need some support to get back on their feet,” said Veronica Taylor from the RWC.

Way Finders manages over 200 units of shelter programming throughout Springfield, Chicopee, and Holyoke. Over 300 children are currently living at these programs.
