Way Finders’ transformational efforts in Holyoke continue building on the community energy and revitalization started by the public library renovation and our Library Commons development completed and leased 2021. Essex Village will consist of 41 affordable units on 4 sites, through the gut rehab of a vacant historic building (circa 1888) across from the library, and the construction of three townhome-style buildings within a block of each other.
The four Essex Village buildings are located at the following addresses, close to our existing Library Commons development and the Holyoke Public Library:
- 213-215 Chestnut Street
- 188-190 Chestnut Street
- 344 Appleton Street
- 207 Elm Street
Applications now available!
Essex Village has affordable apartments available at two different income levels. This means your total household income cannot be more than either 30% or 60% of area median income. Here is a chart that will help you figure out if you are income qualified for these apartments.
Here are some examples to help you understand this:
- If your household size is three and your income is $27,000, you are income qualified to apply to Essex Village under the 30% AMI part of the development
- If your household size is five and your income is $62,000, you are income qualified to apply to Essex Village under the 60% AMI part of the development
- If your household size is two and your income is $59,000 you are not income qualified to apply to Essex Village; you are over income
We hope this helps you understand a little bit more about qualifying for an apartment at Essex Village. For additional information click the property information flyer button below. If you’re ready to apply, click apply now.
